Season Review after round 9:-

The A Grade have been inconsistent this season but have won more then they've lost, the side has been changed several times as a result of injuries to Brett Martin and Paul Mattschoss and the masters tournament, taking Darren Martin, Shaun Visser and Brett McKay out of the side for a few weeks but this has given a few younger players like Sean Rankin and Paul Tam more chances to play A grade. The A's are currently sitting in 2nd position behind Morphett Vale. The ladies have also suffered some inconsistency but are sitting in 3rd.

Halfway through season 2003 Woodlands are in a bit of strife in the B and C Grade both teams currently in 5th place with only 2 wins each. The B Grade also has been effected by inconsistent players, with many of the Woodlands B Grade premiership side from 2002 absent from the side, this has given senior members Daniel Clarke, Clint Irons and Daniel Apthomas the chance to work with a few younger players like Drew Moorcroft, Adam Johnston and Under 18 state member Zak Joannou. Unfotunately a lack of consistent batting efforts have damaged the sides chances of finals cricket.

The C's captained by Iain Scott have struggled also with players being interchanged up and down in grades, inconsistent availabilty and injuries, this not helping the side at all. The consistent efforts of John Bellman in the D Grade have earnt him a promotion in the C's and himself, Steve Bing, Luke Willis and Glenn Butler are all consistent hard workers who will be looking for a few wins before the end of the season.

The D's have played reasonable cricket sitting in 3rd and looking good for the finals, a few new players like Scott Barrett have had stand out years and have given more senior members Neil Pattison and Shaun Jackaman some new talent to work with. Masters are also doing well with the Over 30's and 35's both sitting 2nd.

In Juniors the Under 16's have struggled this season as a result of a lack of numbers and inconsitent players, which has made it hard for the boys to gel as a team. The Under 18's on the other hand have had an excellent first half of the season, sitting 10 points clear at the top of the ladder and so far undefeated they are looking like a real chance for a premiership. More experienced players like Adam Lidiard, Brad Portlock and Zak Joannou have connected well as a team with several new comers to the side like, Jonty Altman, Craig Dollman and James Pitcher and the side has been rewarded for hard working, determined efforts.

All Star Tournament at Woodlands:-

The All Star tournament comprising of all centres playing together as a North Vs South competition consisted of Woodlands, Camden and Morphett Vale as the South and Modbury, Windsor and Stepney as the North. South won the tournament overall with strong performances from the Masters and Under 18s especially standing out. Check out who made the State All star sides to go to Ballarat here.
